We’re excited to share that AgEtal has been selected as a finalist in the 2025 Australian Technologies Competition, recognised for our innovation in developing rapid, on-site Ratoon Stunting Disease (RSD) testing kits.
Now in its 15th year, the Australian Technologies Competition is a nationally significant platform that celebrates commercialisation-ready, homegrown innovation. This year saw 229 entries across 18 industry categories—the highest in the competition’s history. From those, 62 semi-finalists were invited into an intensive Masterclass and mentoring program, with only 37 companies progressing to the final round.
We’re incredibly proud to be among them.
Ratoon Stunting Disease is one of the most serious diseases affecting sugarcane yields worldwide. Our portable diagnostic kits empower growers and agronomists to detect RSD in the field, quickly and reliably—helping reduce disease spread and protect productivity.
As part of the next stage, we’ll head to Sydney on September 17 to pitch at the Finalist Showcase and Awards Evening, held at the Ivy Ballroom.
We’re proud to represent agricultural science and biosecurity innovation at the national level—and grateful to the competition organisers, judges, and mentors for recognising the impact of this work.
Stay tuned as we prepare for finals!
