“DeltaGen” is R based using the R/Shiny package. The purpose in creating this software was to make an integrated solution to help plant breeders with experimental trial design, data exploration, univariate and multivariate analysis, quantitative genetic analysis, pattern analysis, index selection, and breeding method simulation to optimise for genetic gain and cost per selection cycle. The simulation component allows the breeder to manipulate factors such as replicates, locations, seasons, years, selection intensity and genomic selection accuracy. The theory and associated references provided in DeltaGen also enables the software to be used as a teaching resource in plant breeding courses.
